Job summary

A prominent food manufacturer in the Derby area is seeking an HSE Manager to oversee health and safety across the site. The role includes driving compliance, improving environmental standards, and engaging the workforce. Preferred candidates have experience in food manufacturing and hold a NEBOSH diploma or are working towards it. Competitive salary offered between £65k-£68k, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in the food manufacturing industry or FMCG is preferred.

  • Maintain legal compliance in Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Ensure appropriate communications with relevant enforcement and advisory bodies.
  • Set the site strategy for Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Maintain and improve the company's ISO14001 accreditation.
  • Engage the workforce at all levels to increase awareness.
  • Source, design and deliver training in partnership with HR.
  • Manage the effluent aspects of HSE.

Overview

HSE Manager — Derby area — Circa £65k-£68k DOE. We are working with one of the best food manufacturers in its category and they are looking for a Health and Safety manager to join their excellent senior management team.

Responsibilities
  • You will be fully responsible for the whole site and all aspects of health and safety, and you will also manage the environmental side of the business to ensure the site is ahead of industry standards.
  • Maintain legal compliance in the areas of Health, Safety and Environment, and drive to achieve higher standards than this.
  • Ensure appropriate communications with relevant enforcement and advisory bodies as necessary.
  • Set the site strategy for Health, Safety and Environment alongside the General Manager, incorporating overall business strategy to drive an improved HSE culture.
  • Maintain and continually improve the company\'s ISO14001 accreditation and the environmental permit requirements.
  • Engage the workforce at all levels, utilizing creative strategies to increase awareness across a multi-functional site.
  • Training: source, design and deliver in partnership with HR.
  • Manage the effluent aspects of HSE.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working in the food manufacturing industry or FMCG is preferred.
  • NEBOSH diploma (or working towards).
