Job summary

Griffith Foods is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment Leader to drive WHSE culture at the Wincanton site in the UK. You will shape the HSE strategy, collaborate with regional teams and ensure compliance with legislation while promoting continuous improvement.

The role requires NEBOSH or equivalent certification, a science/engineering degree, and knowledge of ISO14001/45001. You will lead training, audits, and risk reduction initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Broad experience in WHSE improvement.
• EHS related certification such as NEBOSH Diploma - Occupational Health, Safety Management, risk management
• Membership in Professional Institute eg. IOSH, IEMA, IRM (Tech, Grad or Full Member) is preferred
• Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
• Knowledge of ISO standards eg. ISO14001 and ISO45001 is preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing the WHS & EMS plan for the Wincanton site, ensuring a WHS culture is intrinsic within the organisation.
• Spearheads Leads the development of people, working with regional HSE team, with a clear focus on industry standards.
• Provides advice and guidance to all levels of the organisation on all HSE and legislative issues, ensuring that good and timely business decisions are made.
• Identifies and records H&S training needs, along with Line Managers, providing training and development as required.
• Is accountable for developing, implementing, and maintaining plans, policies and procedures relating to the HSE Policy Manual.
• Is responsible for ensuring HSE internal and external audits are carried out in a timely manner and corrective actions are documented and closed within the specified time frame.
• Maintains HSE records for the Wincanton site to comply with UK legislative requirements and company policies and procedures.
