Job summary

Griffith Foods, a global leader in food development, seeks an HSE Lead at the Wincanton site to drive health, safety and environmental standards. You will develop policies, lead audits, and coordinate training across the site, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in safety practices.

The role requires NEBOSH qualification and a science/engineering background, with strong collaboration across regional HSE teams and HR for health monitoring and training needs.

Qualifications

• Broad experience in WHSE improvement and culture development.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
• Membership in IOSH/IEMA/IRM or equivalent is advantageous.
• Degree in science or engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the WHS & EMS plan for the Wincanton site.
• Lead development of people with regional HSE team and industry standards.
• Advise on HSE and legislation issues; ensure timely business decisions.
• Identify and record health and safety training needs with Line Managers.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies in the HSE Manual and audits.
• Ensure licenses, permits and authorisations are current and renewed.
• Monitor Noise/Dust surveys and drive corrective actions to reduce exposure.
• Liaise with HR for medical monitoring under HSE programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and COSHH assessments; implement recommendations.
• Develop HSE management structure; chair monthly committee meetings.
• Provide new-starter HSE inductions including safety training.
• Keep staff updated on legislation and PPE requirements.
• Support environmental initiatives to reduce waste and emissions; aim for landfill minimisation.
• Collaborate with UK site management and support global HSE guidelines.
