Job summary

Irwin & Colton in Bradford is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Manager to lead the HSE function at a large, single-site manufacturing operation. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance and partner with site teams to embed best practice across the operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing HSE within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of COMAH regulations.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and drive positive safety behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Act as the site's lead HSE specialist, providing expert guidance to operational teams and working closely with regulators and external stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement by leading incident investigations, analysing root causes and implementing effective corrective actions across the site.
• Support the Site Leadership Team by influencing strategic decisions, embedding best practice and promoting a strong, proactive safety culture.
• Manage environmental compliance, including waste management, emergency preparedness, audits and regulatory inspections.
