Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group in Sheffield is partnering with a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Lead. You will be hands-on, support the site leadership team and drive high standards of HSE compliance.

The role covers policy maintenance, risk assessments, audits (ISO 45001), incident investigations (RIDDOR), training coordination, fire safety, radiation protection, welfare and insurance requirements, and continual HSE improvement across site.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments is essential.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Experience with risk assessments, audits, investigations and HSE compliance.
• Confident working with shop floor to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site's HSE activities, risk assessments and improvement plans.
• Maintain HSE policies, procedures, Contractor Control and Permit to Work systems.
• Lead HSE inspections, audits and external ISO 45001 audits.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, including RIDDOR reporting and corrective actions.
• Keep up-to-date with changes to HSE legislation and close compliance gaps.
• Coordinate HSE training, inductions and competency records.
• Manage Fire Safety and Radiation Protection on site.
• Support occupational health, PPE/RPE, welfare and insurance requirements.
• Drive continual HSE improvement across the site and wider Sheffield operation.

This is a hands‑on HSE role supporting the site leadership team and helping to drive high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the business.

The role

About you

We're looking for an experienced HSE professional with:

• The confidence to work with everyone from shop floor to senior management.
• ISO 45001 auditing experience
