Job summary

Complete Talent Services Ltd seeks a Senior HSE Manager to join a busy manufacturing engineering client near Pickering. This full-time, permanent role requires strong leadership, excellent communication and a proactive approach to safety.

You will drive ISO 45001/14001 initiatives, audits and training, mentor the workforce, and report on safety performance. NEBOSH General Certificate holders with lead auditor qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading HSE in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• NEBOSH certificate required; lead auditor qualifications preferred.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maximise awareness of HSE with a focus on continuous safety improvements.
• Ensure auditing tools, processes and resources are in place and used effectively.
• Shape and improve HSE strategies, policies and procedures in line with standards.
• Mentor, train and communicate across the workforce to drive positive HSE behaviour.
• Provide HSE advice and support to site teams and suppliers as needed.
• Deliver HSE awareness training and lead site standdowns.
• Maintain HSE performance statistics and incident investigations.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an Senior HSE Manager to join an extremely busy and expanding Manufacturing Engineering client based near Pickering .

This is a full time permanent role available for an immediate start.

Candidates must have strong people skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff and look to truly educate staff in relation to HSE process.

The role will primarily focus on maintenance and improvement the ISO 45001 and 14001 standards.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a similar role with exposure to working within a Manufacturing Engineering environment with an understanding and appreciation for risk and hazards within this type of working environment. Candidates will be NEBOSH general certificate qualified ideally with lead audit qualifications in one of more areas

Package including Company bonus , 25 days leave and private health care

Hours – 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4pm Friday

Role Description

• Maximise the awareness of HSE focussing on continuous performance improvement in safety initiatives
• Ensure effective auditing tools, processes and resources are in place and being effectively utilised to support the continuous improvement process
• Shape and improve current HSE strategies, policies, systems and procedures whilst ensuring compliance to company policy and regulating authority standards
• Act as mentor, trainer, advisor and communicator not only within the HSE team but across the entire workforce creating a maximum impact on the value of embracing positive HSE behavioural attitudes.
• From an HSE perspective, act as a focal point with clients and suppliers providing the required support
• Assist in the delivery of company policies and procedures, supporting and implementing initiatives where required
• Provide consistent and accurate HSE advice to site teams where applicable
• Provide support on HSE issues/problems
• Ensure effective measurement of safety performance, implementing audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and analysis providing communications and statistics
• Dynamically lead and motivate the team members under your control and mentor to allow professional development
• Attend Client HSE Forums as required and provide lessons learnt feedback and sharing of best practices
• Produce and communicate HSE alerts following incidents and poor-quality standards to promote learning and prevention and continual improvement
• Support the Head of Operations in maintaining HSE performance statistics monthly as requested
• Deliver awareness training and lead site standdowns
• Compliance management of all ‘ISO’ certifications and other relevant standards required by the facility
• Champion departmental SOP’s, Internal SLA’s, creating and setting of KPI’s and initiatives

Skills & Attributes

• Demonstrable experience within a similar HSE Management role within an engineering/ manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of 45001 and 14001
• Minimum NEBOSH National General Certificate
• Lead Auditor Qualifications ( 14001 or 45001) -
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
• Excellent communication skills.
