Job summary

Leonardo is seeking an HSE Coordinator for its Southampton site to support health, safety and environmental activities across Basildon, Essex, and Southampton. The role focuses on risk assessments, PPE management, audits, and HSE communications within the IS P line of business.

The successful candidate will have NEBOSH and environmental qualifications, plus experience in manufacturing/engineering settings and UK HSE regulation knowledge. Hybrid working and extensive training are offered.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) required.
• IEMA Environmental Management qualification preferred.
• Internal Auditor in ISO 14001/45001/50001 desirable.
• Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Knowledge of UK health, safety and environment regulations.
• Ability to plan and coordinate HSE projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk assessment support and administer risk assessment tools.
• Manage PPE orders, issues and records; promote safety awareness.
• Coordinate HSE communications and site notice boards.
• Coordinate task, COSHH, noise, manual handling and fire risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents and near misses and implement controls.
• Support internal HSE audits and contractor controls.
• Prepare HSE reports and participate in HSE meetings.
