Qualifications

• Appropriate professional Health and Safety qualifications (minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
• Appropriate professional Environmental qualifications (minimum IEMA, NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent).
• Internal Auditor in ISO 14001/ISO 45001/ISO 50001 standards.
• Relevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Experience in promoting HSE activities.
• Detailed knowledge of UK safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Understanding of safety culture development.
• Ability to plan and coordinate HSE projects.

Responsibilities

• Risk Assessment Support including scheduling and documenting routine risk assessments across departments.
• Administrative support identifying hazards and recommending controls.
• Manage risk assessment tool/system including new/reviewed/archived assessments.
• PPE management: ordering, issuing and records.
• Maintain communication to promote safety awareness and compliance.
• Manage site HSE communications and meeting support.
• Support HSE sub-committee meetings and minutes.
• Liaise with managers to prepare and review task, COSHH, noise and fire risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses to identify root causes and controls.
• Assist with contractor safety processes and site auditing programmes.
• Provide prompt admin support and document reviews for HSE tasks.
• Energy and waste monitoring, reduction and record keeping.
• Prepare and distribute regular HSE reports and attend HSE meetings.
• Coordinate with outsourced providers for site safety services.
