Job summary

Whittan Group in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor/Trainer to join the Compliance/HSEQ team. You will support health, safety, environmental and training compliance across the manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement across the Group.

Responsibilities include audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, policy updates, and leading training across the Milton Keynes site, with occasional travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing/engineering experience (3–5 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Experience with ISO standards and internal audits.
• Excellent organisation, communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support IMS compliance and ISO accreditation requirements.
• Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments to improve HSE performance.
• Support accident investigations and promote preventive measures.
• Assist with fire safety, first aid programmes and insurance visits.
• Review and update HSE policies to ensure legal compliance.
• Lead and coordinate site training, maintain training matrix and ensure competency development.
• Deliver toolbox talks and onboard new employees.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR and external training providers.
• Provide HSE support to other Group locations and travel between sites as needed.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Advisor / Trainer to join our Compliance / HSEQ team based in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting health, safety, environmental and training compliance across our manufacturing operations, helping to drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Group.

Key Responsibilities

• - Support the Group's Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensure compliance with ISO standards and accreditation requirements.
• - Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments, identifying opportunities to improve health, safety and environmental performance.
• - Support accident and incident investigations, maintaining accident reporting processes and promoting preventative measures.
• - Assist with fire safety management, first aid programmes and insurance compliance visits.
• - Review and update HSE policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
• - Lead and coordinate training activities across the Milton Keynes site, maintaining the training matrix and ensuring colleagues receive the appropriate development and competency training.
• - Deliver toolbox talks and support the onboarding and training of new employees.
• - Work closely with Operations Managers, Team Leaders, HR and external training providers to support business objectives.
• - Provide H&S support to other Group locations, including occasional travel between sites.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• - Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment (3-5 years preferred).
• - Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and environmental requirements.
• - Experience with ISO standards and internal auditing processes.
• - Excellent organisational, communication and report-writing skills.
• - The ability to work independently, influence stakeholders and deliver effective training.
• - Good IT skills, with SAP knowledge being advantageous.
