Job summary

The Whittan Group, Milton Keynes, seeks an experienced Logistics Manager to lead our warehouse, transport, inventory and dispatch operations at the Milton Keynes site. This role requires a proven track record in logistics within manufacturing or industrial environments, strong leadership and communication, and expertise in stock control, ERP/WMS, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day warehouse, goods-in, storage, picking, packing and dispatch operations.
• Ensure materials and finished goods are handled, stored and moved efficiently.
• Coordinate transport providers to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock control processes.
• Work closely with Production, Planning, Procurement and Customer Service teams.
• Monitor logistics KPIs, budgets, productivity and service performance.
• Lead, develop and motivate warehouse and logistics personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.

Job description

The Whittan Group is the UK's largest manufacturer of steel storage solutions. We are seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Manager to lead our warehouse, transport, inventory, and dispatch operations at our Milton Keynes site.

Key Responsibilities

• - Managing day-to-day warehouse, goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
• - Ensuring materials and finished goods are handled, stored, and moved efficiently.
• - Coordinating transport providers to meet customer delivery requirements.
• - Maintaining accurate inventory records and stock control processes.
• - Working closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Customer Service teams.

About You

• - Proven experience managing logistics, warehouse, or distribution operations.
• - Experience leading teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• - Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, and dispatch processes.
• - Experience coordinating transport and customer deliveries.
• - Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• - Experience working with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.
• - Excellent communication and people management abilities.
• - Experience within steel manufacturing, pallet racking, or storage systems.
• - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• - Experience handling large, heavy, or bulky products.
