Job summary

The Whittan Group is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead warehouse, transport, inventory and dispatch operations at our Milton Keynes site. You will drive efficiency, safety and service excellence while leading a motivated team in a manufacturing environment.

With strong leadership, planning and ERP/WMS experience, you will partner with Production, Planning and Customer Service to meet delivery requirements and support business performance.

• Forklift or materials-handling equipment qualifications.
• Health and Safety training relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day warehouse, goods-in, storage, picking, packing and dispatch operations.
• Ensure materials and finished goods are handled, stored and moved efficiently.
• Coordinate transport providers to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock control processes.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Procurement and Customer Service teams.
• Monitor logistics KPIs, budgets, productivity and service performance.
• Lead, develop and motivate warehouse and logistics personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.
• Promote and maintain high health and safety standards.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Manager to lead our warehouse, transport, inventory, and dispatch operations at our Milton Keynes site.

Key Responsibilities

As Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Managing day-to-day warehouse, goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
• Ensuring materials and finished goods are handled, stored, and moved efficiently.
• Coordinating transport providers to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and stock control processes.
• Working closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Customer Service teams.
• Monitoring logistics KPIs, budgets, productivity, and service performance.
• Leading, developing, and motivating warehouse and logistics personnel.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.
• Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience managing logistics, warehouse, or distribution operations.
• Experience leading teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, and dispatch processes.
• Experience coordinating transport and customer deliveries.
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.
• Excellent communication and people management abilities.
• Experience within steel manufacturing, pallet racking, or storage systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience handling large, heavy, or bulky products.
