Job summary

NEOS Engineering is recruiting a Project Engineer to join an established contractor on the HS2 project in Aylesbury. You will take ownership of complex earthworks and infrastructure projects, guiding them from planning through delivery.

The role involves acting as technical authority, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, planning and HSEQ teams to ensure safety, quality and schedule. Chartered status with ICE or working towards it is preferred, with opportunities for long-term career

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex earthworks and major infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead projects through planning, design and execution.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project objectives across safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.
• Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution and completion.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Act as a key point of contact, resolving issues and supporting effective project delivery.
• Coordinate closely with commercial, planning and HSEQ teams to ensure integrated project planning.
• Support accurate forecasting and proactive risk management.
• Provide leadership and direction to the project team, driving high standards of performance.
• Monitor and report on project progress, risks and opportunities to senior management.
• Implement corrective actions where required to protect project delivery targets.
• Ensure all works comply with contractual obligations, industry standards and relevant regulations.
• Support a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the project.
• Mentor and support team members, contributing to development and succession planning.
