Job summary

Ordnance Survey invites applications for an HR Services Coordinator on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Southampton. This full-time, hybrid role provides first-line HR support to colleagues via Workday Help, assisting with payroll, leave, terms and conditions, benefits and policies.

You will handle inbound queries, maintain data accuracy in Workday and SharePoint, and contribute to HR metrics and continuous improvement projects across HR teams.

Qualifications

  • Proven HR experience with strong customer service.
  • Experience using HR systems; Workday knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable with data and HR metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage inbound HR queries via Workday Help, ensuring timely, accurate responses.
  • Deliver HR services by processing payroll-related elements in Workday to ensure accurate payments.
  • Ensure data accuracy by updating Workday and SharePoint records.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and share new ways of working with the team.
  • Provide HR metrics and insights to address business queries (absence, quarterly/annual metrics).
  • Support HR team operations and assist across HR functions including Workday, ER, Resourcing and Learning & Development.

About the role

As part of a HR Delivery team, you'll be providing a first line response service to over 1,300 of your colleagues and People Leaders in the UK, delivering an extraordinary customer experience offering advice and guidance on a diverse range of people related queries. This could be on any part of their journey at OS, helping people navigate our Workday ERP system, supporting recruitment, queries on pay, leave, terms and conditions, benefits and allowances, policies and procedures.

Our People experience is at the forefront of our thinking and to support this we're continuously improving, whether that be by designing and implementing experience-led journeys, adding to our self-service capabilities or ensuring we're providing the most accurate support and advice. Through trend identification and analysis, you'll help us understand where we can improve upon and enhance our HR offering. You'll be able to get involved in all of this and also participate in other projects we have lined up.

Key tasks
  • Own and manage inbound HR queries via Workday Help, ensuring timely, accurate, and people-focused responses
  • Deliver efficient HR services by administering core processes to high standards, including processing of pay related elements in Workday to ensure people are paid accurately and on time
  • Ensure data accuracy, by updating, editing, or amending information in Workday and our SharePoint portal
  • Keep an eye out for areas of continuous improvement and share findings or new ways of working with the team
  • Provide meaningful HR metrics and insights to address business queries, for example on absence reporting, quarterly and annual people metrics
  • Ensure all team administration is handled in line with correct business processes and customer need; for example, develop and enhance work instructions to support efficient business operation, provide support to other HR teams to enable excellent service delivery across the Function, including Workday Team, ER, Resourcing, and Learning & Development

You'll be someone who can assess situations thoughtfully and take initiative to drive things forward.

We're looking for good evidence of
  • Proven HR experience, with a understanding of HR processes and best practices
  • A strong customer service mindset, with a track record of delivering high-quality support to internal stakeholders
  • Effective teammate and experience of working with customers to achieve a common goal
  • Experience using HR systems, with knowledge of Workday being a distinct advantageProactive approach to improving processes, with examples of streamlining or enhancing ways of working
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Clear and confident communicator, comfortable engaging across all communication channels
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable, with confidence using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • Comfortable working with data, with experience in producing and interpreting HR metrics (desirable)
