Who is the HR Resourcing Advisor?
HR Resourcing Advisors work with all directorates across the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) providing effective support and guidance for all resourcing needs, whilst ensuring compliance across all processes.
With a focus on inclusion, improving diversity and a great candidate journey, you would be expected to continuously develop your skills and knowledge.
You will work alongside the other members of the resourcing team to help provide team resilience and ensure that vacancies are compliant and run smoothly.

- Acting as point of contact for hiring managers to offer guidance and support on all aspects of the resourcing process including but not limited to:
- Ensuring that all resourcing services provided across the MCA are consistent and in line with team strategic goals whilst adhering to governance standards and industry best practice including GDPR and the Civil Service Recruitment Principles

Person specification
To be successful as the HR Resourcing Advisor, you will have:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced environment, providing advice and delivering a high-quality service in a HR, recruitment, account management or equivalent environment
- Experience in guiding and advising internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills and well organised with the ability to effectively manage shifting priorities
Additional Information
This role will be based in the Southampton HQ. MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work.
The expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace or out on official business. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.
Whilst we welcome applications from candidates seeking part time/flexible working hours, there will be a business requirement for candidates to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. For further information please contact

Occasional travel around the UK to attend interviews and meetings, this may require overnight stays.

This post is offered on a Fixed Term Appointment (FTA) basis to complete a finite piece of work, however this may be extended or made permanent.
Permanent Civil Servants will be appointed on an inward loan and subject to the terms of the agreed inward loan. You must have your home departments approval to return to them at the end of the loan before you apply. Internal candidates will return to their previous post at the end of the loan period, which will need to be agreed with your line manager in advance. If your home department cannot agree to release you on loan, there is the opportunity for you to move across to the department on a fixed term appointment. In this instance the Department for Transport would become your home department and if there is no role available for you at the end of this appointment, you would be subject to the redeployment and redundancy process.
If you're employed by a non-departmental public body (NDPB) by moving jobs this will involve a change of employer and you may break the statutory rules on continuity of employment.
