About you



As HR / Recruitment Officer you'll be an integral part of our team. You will be responsible of maintain the smooth operation of the HR / Recruitment processes within the office as part of a team. You will aim to provide a high quality HR service incorporating the values of the society as well as the society's policies and procedures within the HR / recruitment processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same, and creativity and flexibility are valued traits.

About the role



Based at our Head Office at Chester Le Street, this full time role will report to the HR Manager. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR/Recruitment Officer to join our dedicated HR team. This is a varied role that combines recruitment expertise with broader HR administration and support. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment processes — including advertising, screening, compliance checks, and onboarding — while also supporting a wide range of HR functions such as employee file management, policy guidance, health and DBS checks, and maintaining HR systems. As the first point of contact for HR and recruitment queries, you will provide high-quality service and accurate information to managers, candidates, and colleagues, always upholding the values of the North East Autism Society. This role requires excellent organisational skills, a strong understanding of HR best practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement in both recruitment and general HR operations.
