Job summary

SF Partners is recruiting an HR & Recruitment Advisor in Birmingham to join a fast-growing business. This hands-on generalist role covers recruitment, HR operations and first-line employee relations, working alongside an experienced HR Business Partner to deliver high-quality service to managers and employees.

The role is office-based with a salary of £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience, and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a generalist HR role with recruitment exposure.
• Experience handling absence, disciplinary, grievance and/or capability matters.
• Experience supporting or managing recruitment processes.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Proficient in using HR systems/ATS and generating HR reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment for vacancies, including advertising, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offers and onboarding.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand recruitment requirements and support attraction and selection.
• Prepare contracts, offer letters and other employment documents.
• Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, probation reviews and wider lifecycle processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
• Handle day-to-day HR queries and provide first-line guidance to managers and employees.
• Support employee relations matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.
• Assist investigations, meetings and follow-up actions.
• Prepare monthly payroll changes and ensure accuracy of information.
• Produce HR reports and recruitment data for management information.
• Support HR policy reviews and wider people projects.

SF Partners are working with a successful, fast-growing business in Birmingham to recruit an HR & Recruitment Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional who is looking for a broad, hands-on generalist role where they can continue to develop their advisory experience. Working closely with an experienced HR Business Partner, you will support across the full employee lifecycle, combining recruitment, HR operations and first-line employee relations. The business operates within a fast-paced commercial environment and has experienced significant growth. As a result, they are looking for someone proactive, organised and confident who enjoys taking ownership and delivering a high-quality service to both managers and employees.

The Role

This is a varied position where no two days will be the same. Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing some support with the smooth day-to-day running of the Birmingham office

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who has gained experience within an HR Coordinator, HR Officer, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR position and is now looking for a role offering further responsibility and development.

You will ideally have:

• Previous generalist HR experience
• Exposure to employee relations matters such as absence, disciplinary, grievance and/or capability
• Experience supporting or managing recruitment processes
• Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
• Experience using HR systems and/or Applicant Tracking Systems
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to use your own initiative
• CIPD Level 3 or above, or be working towards a CIPD qualification - advantageous but not essential
