Job summary

Class One Traffic Management Limited is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Manager to lead operational People and payroll across Scotland and Northern Ireland. The role sits at the Bonnybridge office five days a week, with travel to other sites as needed, and reports to the Managing Director with a dotted line to the Ramudden Global UK People Director.

Qualifications

• Experience in a HR generalist/HR manager role with payroll responsibility.
• Expertise in employee relations and employment law in Scotland, with NI knowledge or ability to learn quickly.
• Hands-on payroll management, including validation of timesheets, pensions, and statutory payments.
• Ability to advise and challenge managers across a multi-site environment.
• Experience using HR/payroll systems and producing workforce insight.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical People advice to leaders across Scotland and NI.
• Lead a team of payroll/HR/recruitment professionals (approx. 4) in Bonnybridge.
• Manage employee relations activities, including disciplinary and grievances, with governance.
• Oversee end-to-end fortnightly payroll delivery and compliance.
• Collaborate with central People Team to implement Group policies and reporting.
• Support NI operations, considering local employment and equalities requirements.
• Coordinate NI equality monitoring, reporting and record keeping.
• Maintain HR/payroll data and provide workforce information and risk insights.
• Coach managers and contribute to workforce planning and organizational change.
• Liaise with Finance on payroll controls and month-end reporting.
• Contribute to policy development while ensuring Group governance.
