Job summary

University of Oxford's Department of Materials is seeking an experienced HR Operations Manager to lead HR operations, drive improvements, and deputise for the Head of HR. You will support managers and academic staff, ensuring compliant recruitment and HR processes.

The ideal candidate is CIPD qualified (or equivalent), a capable HR Generalist with strong interpersonal skills, and solid knowledge of UK employment law and UKVI regulations.

Qualifications

• CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) required or preferred.
• Strong HR Generalist background with experience in HR operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence upwards.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law.
• Knowledge of UKVI regulations to ensure compliance.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of HR operations within the Department of Materials.
• Take a lead role in HR projects and develop initiatives for improvement and efficiency.
• Deputise for the Head of HR and provide day-to-day management of the HR function.
• Support employee relations cases and ensure compliant recruitment and HR processes.
