The Part-Time HR Officer will be based at the company’s head office in Avonmouth, working 20-25 hours per week with flexible hours to suit your schedule.

Duties of a Part-Time HR Officer
- Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face communication
- Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding documentation
- Manage all recruitment activity, liaising with agencies, scheduling interviews, and gathering feedback
- Oversee onboarding and induction processes for new employees at all levels
- Manage staff turnover processes, including exit interviews
- Support disciplinary, grievance, and absence management meetings with note-taking and follow-up communications
- Assist the Service Manager with training arrangements and online compliance courses
- Oversee the Apprentice scheme, liaising with colleges and managing travel logistics
- Maintain and verify personnel files, ensuring GDPR compliance and audit readiness
- Regularly review and update HR policies, ensuring clear communication of changes
- Administer the holiday booking system and manage absence records
- Provide HR support and guidance to the management team
- Facilitate employee engagement initiatives, forums, and health & safety meetings
- Organise and oversee employee engagement events, including staff lunches and Christmas functions
- Occasionally visit other dealerships in Gloucester and Swindon, requiring a valid UK driving licence with minimal points
Requirements of a Part-Time HR Officer
- Previous experience in an HR administrative or HR officer role
- Understanding of employment law and HR best practices
- Proficiency in HR systems, Microsoft Office applications, and recruitment processes
- Knowledge of performance management and employee relation procedures
- CIPD qualification is advantageous but not essential
- Valid UK driving licence with minimal points, as occasional travel to other dealerships is involved
