Job summary

VanRath is seeking an experienced HR professional to support the Employee Relations team on a six-week temporary basis within a public sector setting in Lisburn. You will handle casework and advise on disciplinary, grievance, and dignity at work matters.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate aligned with public sector standards and flexible hours, with a focus on delivering high-quality HR services while developing policy and practice across departments.

Qualifications

  • Third-level qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 4, Degree) or equivalent; CIPD membership or working towards it is essential
  • Minimum of three years relevant management experience in HR, Organisation Development, or Payroll; candidates without formal qualifications must demonstrate at least six years' experience covering HR advice, employee relations, and team supervision
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships effectively

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Employee Relations team with casework and administrative responsibilities
  • Advise managers and senior leaders on ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and dignity at work cases
  • Help manage complex employee relations issues related to sickness absence, probation, and capability
  • Ensure all casework adheres to policies, procedures, and employment legislation
  • Assist in the review and development of ER policies and processes
  • Foster positive working relationships across departments to promote fair and consistent case management
