Location and Ways of Working
We follow the principle of “Locate for your Day”, which means that we expect people to use their own judgment to decide the best place to work to meet the needs of the business.
The majority of our roles can be performed predominantly remotely, however we are not a fully remote organisation as we recognise the importance of face-to-face connection, so you will be expected to spend some time in the office.
We operate from our Global Hub at Victoria Square House in Birmingham and maintain a small presence in Central London.
Our Global Hub is located in Birmingham, which is our primary location, however, many of our employees are located across the UK, so we try to be mindful of our sustainability commitments when coming together to collaborate. Therefore, working in another location may be required on occasion. You will be expected to commute to your usual place (Birmingham) of work at your own cost and any requests for you to travel further will be compensated.
Main purpose of the role
The HR Officer serves as the primary point of contact for generalist HR advice, supporting both managers and employees across all aspects of people management. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring that all contractual changes are processed efficiently—from accurate documentation and payroll updates to maintaining our HR systems.
Working closely with the HR Business Partners, the HR Officer will play a key role in workforce planning, ensuring that recruitment requisitions are thoughtfully considered and aligned with organisational strategy and approved through appropriate governance channels.
A core part of the role involves supporting the resolution of employee relations matters, providing guidance that reflects best practice, internal policy, and current employment legislation. The HR Officer will also contribute to the development and regular review of HR policies and supporting toolkits, ensuring they are practical and accessible.
Acting as a critical link between HR strategy and operational delivery, the HR Officer will ensure that systems and processes are continuously improved to meet evolving business needs. They will maintain high standards of data integrity, ensure documentation is accurate and current, and champion the use of automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency and compliance.
