Job summary

Arc is seeking an HR Manager to own the foundations of HR operations across our UK entities, including governance, policies, processes and people data. This hands-on generalist role combines scalable improvements with day-to-day HR delivery, advising managers on people matters and supporting the wider HR agenda.

The role involves regular travel to the Preston office in a lean team, focusing on robust data standards, payroll oversight, and a proactive, compliant HR service.

Qualifications

• Generalist HR experience at senior level in a multi-entity business.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
• Experience owning and improving HR policies and processes.
• Confidence working with HR data and systems with attention to detail.
• Clear communication to advise and coach managers.

Responsibilities

• Own HR governance, policy, and systems across entities.
• Advise managers on performance, absence, conduct, and flexible working.
• Lead on payroll oversight and HRIS improvements over time.
• Support benefits reviews, recruitment partnerships, and engagement.
• Use AI and automation to reduce manual work while protecting data.
