Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in Cardiff is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the people function for its engineering, construction and infrastructure projects. The role blends strategic HR leadership with hands-on delivery across office and site environments.

You will manage the HR team, develop policies, support workforce planning, oversee recruitment and employee relations, ensure UK employment compliance and deliver timely HR metrics to senior leadership. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Extensive HR management experience in engineering/construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and compliance.
• Proven ability to develop and embed HR policies and procedures.
• Experience leading HR teams and driving accountability.
• Experience supporting site-based/workforce populations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HR team and set expectations.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance and performance.
• Partner with project and operational leaders on workforce planning and resources.
• Design and embed HR policies and procedures for operational delivery.
• Oversee recruitment and resourcing for office and site-based staff.
• Support pay, terms and conditions across a diverse workforce.
• Drive employee engagement, retention and culture initiatives.
• Ensure UK employment legislation compliance and HR best practice.
• Produce HR metrics and workforce reporting for senior leadership.
