Job summary

HR Manager position in Warrington, newly created standalone role within an engineering and manufacturing business. You will build the HR function from the ground up, supporting around 100 employees across two sites and reporting to the Managing Director.

You'll shape policies, onboarding, performance management and people planning with support from the leadership team. Hybrid working is available, with flexibility on start and finish times and a strong emphasis on people-friendly practices.

Qualifications

• Broad HR generalist experience across multiple HR functions.
• Experience building an HR function from scratch.
• Payroll experience welcomed or would be helpful.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on support with longer-term planning.

Responsibilities

• Establish a consistent HR framework across two sites.
• Review and align policies, handbooks and procedures.
• Provide approachable advice on employee relations with external legal support.
• Improve onboarding, performance appraisals and employee records.
• Develop training, development and progression processes.
• Strengthen internal communication, employee feedback and recognition.
• Create an initial six-month action plan and a longer-term people strategy.
