Your mission

We are looking for a pragmatic HR Manager to establish a new HR function within Block Co. This role will support all entities and employees through the employee transfer process in the UK and Spain. Once operational, you will build and manage a team of People Generalists in both Spain and the UK, maintaining strong relationships with our people partners.

The HR Manager will develop and enhance HR practices and processes aligned with Block Co.'s goals across all locations. You will also provide high-quality operational HR advice across the full employee lifecycle, supporting HR Managers and the broader HR team.

What you'll do

  1. HR Operations Setup: Collaborate with senior leadership to establish HR operations across Spain and the UK. Support employee transitions during organizational setup.
  2. Team Management: Hire, manage, and develop a team of HR professionals in both countries. Maintain operational efficiency in people-related activities.
  3. HR Practices and Policies: Develop and improve HR practices and policies to align with company goals. Establish policies fostering a positive culture and engagement. Implement an effective annual performance review process.
  4. Talent Management: Identify, develop, and retain key talent. Address learning and development needs by researching and implementing training programs.
  5. HR Administration: Oversee payroll, benefits, and other HR functions. Stay updated on legislation in Spain and the UK. Manage budgets related to HR tooling, benefits, and training.
  6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of HR best practices. Propose improvements to tooling, processes, and new ideas.

What you'll bring

  • Proven HR experience in a multilingual environment, preferably in IT.
  • Successful management experience supporting team growth and development.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Expertise in Spanish and UK employment laws and HR legislation.
  • Experience in administering Spanish and UK benefits, with knowledge of trends.
  • Strong communication skills, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent work ethic, team-oriented, with mentoring skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, results-oriented.
