Volunteer Centre is looking for an HR specialist to provide strategic HR leadership within their organization. This full-time role involves enhancing people policies, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring a supportive work culture in line with their mission to empower women. The position requires collaborative efforts to deliver high-quality HR services and to foster the wellbeing of staff across several centres in Yorkshire and Humberside.
Location: Office-based at one of our Women’s Centres in Bradford, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield or Wakefield, with regular travel to all Together Women locations across Yorkshire and Humberside.
Hours: 37 hour per week, full-time.

About The Role
This is an exciting new role which will play a pivotal position role in shaping how we work as an organisation—supporting a culture that places women at the centre, values collaboration, and champions equity and inclusion in all aspects of our work. The key responsibilities will be HR Leadership and Operations, Recruitment and Onboarding, Learning and Development, Facilities and Health & Safety, and Organisational Culture and Equity.
Working as a key member of the Central Services team, the HR Manager will support line managers and senior leaders to embed consistent, effective people practices across all stages of the employee experience—from recruitment and induction through to development, performance, and retention. The postholder will act as a trusted source of advice, ensuring HR operations are aligned with our mission and organisational priorities.
In addition to HR leadership, the role holds oversight for Together Women’s facilities and health & safety coordination. While the day-to-day management of our sites sits with local Centre Managers, this role will ensure a consistent approach to H&S compliance, safe working environments, and value-for-money procurement of services across our locations.
