Job summary

A local Multi Academy Trust is seeking a HR Manager for a maternity cover, commencing in September 2025. The role entails comprehensive HR management including recruitment, onboarding, and stakeholder advice, with flexibility for full or part time candidates. School experience is preferred but not essential, making this an exciting opportunity for driven HR professionals.

Qualifications

  • CIPD level 5 essential.
  • Management experience required.

Job description

We are working with a local Multi Academy Trust who require a HR Manager for a maternity leave cover in a local school.

This role is available to full time and part time candidates and is usually term time only plus 5-20 days during holidays although they will consider all year round.

The role will begin in September 2025 to do a handover.

The role:

  • Lead the provision of high quality and efficient HR services
  • Work autonomously to deliver complete HR services, with access to support from the central team
  • Build relationships within the school and senior leadership team
  • You will be responsible for recruitment, selection and onboarding of new staff, employee records management, relations, learning and development and offboarding of leaving staff
  • Provide advise and guidance to all stakeholders in line with policies and procedures such as absence, disciplinary, grievance etc

Responsibilities:

  • Line management of team
  • Oversee, manage and review workload of direct reports, distributing work fairly, meeting deadlines in line with expectations.
  • Advise to staff and management
  • Adhoc training
  • Project assistance
  • Maintain up to date knowledge
  • Develop, maintain and review policies and procedures

Qualifications & Skills

  • CIPD level 5
  • Up to date working knowledge of employment law
  • Management Experience
  • Experience of analysing, interpreting and utilising data
  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection
  • school experience preferred but not essential
  • Experience of databases
  • Good IT and communication skills
