Job description

HR Manager

Our client one of the UK’s leading air ambulance charities. They continuously push the boundaries of medical intervention, helicopter aviation and on-scene patient care to deliver a unique emergency service to patients, where and when it is most needed.

The role

The HR team supports their operational, fundraising and support service teams across the charity, so no day is ever the same! The HR Manager is a new role, Reporting to the Head of HR, and working alongside the HRBP for Operations, the HRA for HQ and the HR Compliance officer, supporting approximately 150 staff.

This role will support the delivery of timely and effective HR services across the charity, ensuring continuous improvement of HR policies and processes. You'll develop tools and run workshops to guide and develop the line manager community, fostering discussion and learning.

The HR Manager will support cyclical projects, as well as the responsibility to produce Key HR KPIs, presenting regularly to the wider HR and Management teams, using data to highlight areas for concern and success.

About you

Due to the nature of our service our HR tasks and projects are usually complex, meaning you will need an excellent working knowledge of employment and contract law and be comfortable having detailed, technical conversations with managers. Previous experience in a similar role advising managers and staff across a wide HR generalist remit within a medical, healthcare or “Blue Light” organisation is desired.

You will thrive on problem solving, supporting the HR team in resolving manager queries and employee relations issues. You will be a highly self-motivated and curious individual, who relishes the opportunity to learn every day. You will recognise the importance of clear and open communication and enjoy working with others across the Charity in a culture of continuous improvement.
