We are seeking a full-time, 40 hour per week, HR Generalist/Recruiter to join our Team. The Human Resource Generalist/Recruiter will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including data entry, general benefits administration, recruitment and onboarding, employee recognition and employee health.
HR Generalist Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greets individuals in person, by phone and email that present to the HR Department.
- Collaborates with the Recruiter on pre-employment processes/documentation and travel staff placement in partnership with Hiring Managers.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Facilitates new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to assist with the administration and execution of human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, recognition, payroll, occupational health and safety.
- Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices and makes suggestions to maintain compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
HR Recruitment Marketing Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Researches, develops and implements effective recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent.
- Collaborates with department managers and leaders to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on industry standards and the needs of the hospital.
- Works with marketing firm and Community Relations Department on the advertising process.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and YH policies.
- Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions.
- Serves as back up for other HR Recruiters duties and responsibilities.
May Serve as Backup for Other HR Recruiter with the Following Essential Duties & Responsibilities including, but are not limited to:
- Screens applications and selects qualified candidates for advancement to hiring managers.
- Determines applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications and collaboratively working with hiring managers.
- Responds to applicant questions related to position openings.
- Manages the applicant tracking system.
- Processes Workforce Council hiring requests.
- Negotiates job offers with candidates, including salaries and benefits.
- Oversees detailed reference checking and/or reference analysis on selected candidates.
- Maintains all Traveler and staffing agency contracts and candidate profiles and files, ensuring that all candidates put forward meet YH hiring requirements.
- Works closely with hiring managers and understands the hiring requirements of hiring managers and the needs of the department and the hospital.
- Stays updated on hiring trends and best practices.
- Creates and monitors compilation and reporting of recruitment metrics.
- Improves hospital attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring job offers and emphasizing the value of benefits and opportunities.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Serves as recruitment back up for HR Business Partner assigned recruitment responsibilities.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Personal Qualities:- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to create and implement effective strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- Experience in a professional office setting with customer service experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required; PHR or SPHR certification highly desirable. 3-5 years of experience working on all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred. Relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare is a plus.
