We are seeking a full-time, 40 hour per week, HR Generalist/Recruiter to join our Team. The Human Resource Generalist/Recruiter will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including data entry, general benefits administration, recruitment and onboarding, employee recognition and employee health.

HR Generalist Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Greets individuals in person, by phone and email that present to the HR Department.
  2. Collaborates with the Recruiter on pre-employment processes/documentation and travel staff placement in partnership with Hiring Managers.
  3. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  4. Facilitates new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  5. Performs routine tasks required to assist with the administration and execution of human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, recognition, payroll, occupational health and safety.
  6. Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  7. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices and makes suggestions to maintain compliance.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

HR Recruitment Marketing Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Researches, develops and implements effective recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent.
  2. Collaborates with department managers and leaders to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  3. Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on industry standards and the needs of the hospital.
  4. Works with marketing firm and Community Relations Department on the advertising process.
  5. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and YH policies.
  6. Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  7. Serves as back up for other HR Recruiters duties and responsibilities.

May Serve as Backup for Other HR Recruiter with the Following Essential Duties & Responsibilities including, but are not limited to:
  1. Screens applications and selects qualified candidates for advancement to hiring managers.
  2. Determines applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications and collaboratively working with hiring managers.
  3. Responds to applicant questions related to position openings.
  4. Manages the applicant tracking system.
  5. Processes Workforce Council hiring requests.
  6. Negotiates job offers with candidates, including salaries and benefits.
  7. Oversees detailed reference checking and/or reference analysis on selected candidates.
  8. Maintains all Traveler and staffing agency contracts and candidate profiles and files, ensuring that all candidates put forward meet YH hiring requirements.
  9. Works closely with hiring managers and understands the hiring requirements of hiring managers and the needs of the department and the hospital.
  10. Stays updated on hiring trends and best practices.
  11. Creates and monitors compilation and reporting of recruitment metrics.
  12. Improves hospital attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring job offers and emphasizing the value of benefits and opportunities.
  13. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
  14. Serves as recruitment back up for HR Business Partner assigned recruitment responsibilities.
  15. May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Personal Qualities:
  1. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  3. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to create and implement effective strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  6. Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  7. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  8. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  10. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  11. Experience in a professional office setting with customer service experience required.
  12. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required; PHR or SPHR certification highly desirable. 3-5 years of experience working on all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred. Relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare is a plus.
