Job summary

Planet Pharma is recruiting an experienced HR professional to join its on-site team in Devon. You will provide day-to-day HR support, advise managers and help resolve complex employee matters within a busy manufacturing setting.

You will engage with employee representations and unions, support recruitment and workforce planning, and apply UK employment law across local people processes. A proactive, practical approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Broad generalist HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Experience supporting a site-based workforce.
• Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience working with trade unions or in a unionised setting.
• Confident managing sensitive employee relations cases.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

An established manufacturing organisation is looking for an experienced HR professional to join its on-site team in Devon.

This is a broad, hands-on position supporting employees and managers across a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will provide practical HR guidance, help resolve complex employee matters and contribute to the continued development of local people processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees and managers
• Manage employee relations matters, including absence, performance, conduct and grievance cases
• Support organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
• Interpret and apply company policies, employment legislation and collective agreements
• Work constructively with employee representatives and trade unions
• Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and employee development
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the overall employee experience
• Build trusted relationships across the site and wider organisation
• Contribute to projects and responsibilities beyond the immediate remit of the role

Experience required

• Broad generalist HR experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, food, pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment
• Experience supporting an operational or site-based workforce
• Knowledge of UK employment law and good HR practice
• Experience working with trade unions or within a unionised environment
• Confidence managing sensitive and complex employee relations cases
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach
• CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous
