Are you an experienced HR professional looking for your next opportunity within a busy and established business?

We’re recruiting for a full-time, permanent HR Generalist based in Malton, with a salary of £35,000–£38,000 depending on experience.

This is a hands-on, varied position where you’ll work closely with managers and employees across the business, providing practical HR support and helping ensure people processes are managed consistently and effectively.

What you’ll be doingAs HR Generalist, you’ll have responsibility across a broad HR remit, including:

• Advising managers and employees on day-to-day HR queries.
• Supporting employee relations cases across absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Managing recruitment activity, including interviews, offers and onboarding.
• Preparing contracts, letters and other employee documentation.
• Coordinating probation reviews, appraisals and performance processes.
• Maintaining accurate employee records and HR system information.
• Monitoring absence, holidays and key people data.
• Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and retention activity.
• Keeping HR policies and procedures up to date.
• Supporting managers with people-related challenges and building their confidence in managing their teams.
• Getting involved in wider HR projects and identifying opportunities to improve existing processes.

What we’re looking forYou’ll already have experience working across a varied HR remit and be comfortable managing multiple priorities.

We’d particularly like to speak with people who have:

• Previous experience in an HR Generalist, HR Officer, HR Coordinator or similar position.
• Practical experience supporting employee relations matters.
• A good working knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with managers at different levels.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• A professional and approachable style.
• The ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately.
• CIPD Level 3 or equivalent practical HR experience.

Experience within manufacturing, engineering or another operational environment would be beneficial, although it isn’t essential.
