Job description

Who are we?

Seloxium Ltd. is a dynamic spin-out company from the University of Oxford. We are revolutionising clean growth and the circular economy within the mining & refining sectors by selectively recovering high-value metals from in-process or effluent water streams. Our multi-patented ‘selective flocculation’ technology will change the way we mine, refine and process these metals, offering a greener and more sustainable solution to metallic resource recovery and reuse.

As we grow and our team member landscape is ever-changing, we are looking to appoint a HR Coordinator. Reporting directly to our HR Manager.

The HR Coordinator will support our HR department, collaborating with all job families and team members across the entire employee landscape.

This role would suit someone that is able to be flexible, independent (but with support on hand) and can multitask whilst maintaining attention to detail. Having worked within a high energy, dynamic start-up / SME environment – ideally within the scientific space with chemists and engineers - would be an advantage.

We are open to considering full‑time, condensed hours or part‑time applicants that are able to commute to Arc Oxford, OX4 2HN

As a HR Coordinator you will (after training) be responsible for:

  • Employee Preboarding, Onboarding & Offboarding Logistics: supporting the end‑to‑end starter and leaver operation, including statutory Right to Work checks, equipment provisioning, aspects of contract issuing, induction schedules and probation planning.
  • HR Information System & Records Compliance: Maintaining accurate employee data within our HR system, tracking leave entitlements, wellness / sickness reporting and ensuring strict GDPR compliance for all team member files.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration: Preparing aspects of monthly payroll variations (starters, leavers, salary changes, pension contributions) for payroll processing.
  • Training Administration: Maintaining safety training record, arranging individual and group training and company-wide annual re‑training as needed for compliance.
  • Team Events: actively helping to plan and run employee social and training events.
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:
  • A strong overall educational background, probably graduate or relevant equivalent vocational qualifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive employee, legal, and financial information with strict confidentiality.
  • Experience maintaining and updating HR Information Systems to ensure data integrity across the employee lifecycle.
  • The ability to form positive relationships with colleagues and be able to resolve conflicts considerately and professionally.
  • A track record of coordinating seamless starter and leaver logistics, including contract delivery, background checks, IT/equipment coordination, and induction schedules.
  • The ability to prioritise competing operational demands in a fast‑paced environment, with a proactive approach to automating and streamlining administrative workflows.
  • Practical experience in supporting a busy HR Manager, juggling multiple tasks and activities, and seeing tasks through to completion
  • Empathy for team members whilst maintaining confidentiality and supporting the company.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Professionalism, flexibility and can‑do attitude.
You could also have:
  • An interest in Science, Chemistry or Engineering.
  • Practical knowledge of UK Right to Work verification, GDPR/data privacy regulations for employee records, and basic statutory HR compliance (contracts, leave, statutory pay).
  • Familiarity with non-technical workplace Health & Safety administration, including occupational health and safety and maintaining team member training records.

If you're ready to make an impact in a purpose-driven company and thrive in an innovative environment Seloxium is the place for you.
