HR Coordinator

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Working Pattern: Fully onsite
Contract: 12 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour
Salary Equivalent: Up to approximately £35,000 per annum
Start Date: September/October 2026

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HR Coordinator to join a growing HR team in Basingstoke on an initial 12-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with around 3-5 years' experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle.

You will act as a key point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, providing professional and timely support while helping to ensure HR processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with company policies and employment legislation.

The role will also provide an opportunity to support the development of HR processes within a newly independent business following its acquisition from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Key Responsibilities
Employee & Manager Support
  • Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Support employees throughout their employment journey, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Escalate complex employee relations, policy or compliance matters where appropriate.
HR Administration
  • Manage HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including:
    • New starter administration and onboarding
    • Organisational changes, transfers and promotions
    • Leave and absence administration
    • Offboarding and termination processes
  • Prepare and maintain HR documentation, correspondence and personnel records.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure new employees have a smooth and positive start.
HR Systems & Data
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems and databases.
  • Ensure employee information is updated accurately and promptly.
  • Support HR data audits and reporting activities.
  • Produce standard HR reports and metrics when required.
Payroll & Benefits
  • Work closely with Payroll to ensure employee changes are processed accurately and on time.
  • Support benefits administration and respond to employee queries regarding benefit programmes.
  • Assist with annual benefits and compensation administration where required.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure HR processes are delivered in accordance with company policies and relevant employment legislation.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Support internal and external audits through accurate record keeping and documentation.
Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes, procedures and tools.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify administrative processes and improve the employee experience.
  • Support wider HR projects and organisational initiatives as required.
About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in an HR administration or HR coordination role, ideally with 3-5 years' relevant experience.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident dealing with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Customer-focused with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experienced using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee data.
  • Knowledgeable of HR processes and UK employment legislation.
  • Fluent in English.

Additional European language skills would be advantageous, given the diverse employee population.
