Job description

HR Casework Administrator This part-time (0.6FTE) post is available from immediately on a permanent basis.

About The Role

HR Casework Administrator – This part-time (0.6FTE) post is available from immediately on a permanent basis.

The starting salary will be from £30,628 per annum pro rata on Grade D subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

We are looking for a Casework Administrator to join our small HR Casework team. The team provides confidential advice and support on all aspects of the formal stages of the University’s employment policies and procedures, working closely with our HR Partnering and Advisory teams, our in‑house Employment Legal Counsel and line managers across the University. The team also supports colleagues and managers to explore alternative dispute resolution and encourage early resolution in cases of workplace disagreements and grievances.

As Casework Administrator, you will provide proactive administrative support across a wide range of formal cases, enabling the progression of cases through the investigation, hearing, and appeal stages in a timely manner. As the University continues to embed its Early Resolution Framework for the timely, supportive, and proactive resolution of workplace issues, you will also provide support to administer and co‑ordinate resolution activity.

Key Aspects Of This Role Will Include
  • Monitoring the progress of all active cases and any timelines, keeping the team constantly appraised of deadlines and other key dates with reference to specific cases and the relevant procedures
  • Understanding the priorities of the casework team to ensure that workload is managed effectively and responding to urgent requests
  • Arranging all administrative aspects of setting up formal hearings (including arranging panels, HR support, note taker, hearing dates and booking meeting rooms)
  • Assisting with the preparation and distribution of casework paperwork and correspondence in a consistent and timely manner, proactively contacting HR Business Partners, Trade Union representatives and other members of staff to gather all relevant documentation
  • Note taking at investigation meetings and formal hearings
About you

As a Casework Administrator, You Will Have

  • Excellent customer service skills, with a high level of interpersonal skills to deal with highly confidential and sensitive issues with empathy and diplomacy
  • An ability to work effectively with others in a team environment, and build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong administrative skills, including complete attention to detail and low error rates
  • Experience of working independently, with an ability to meet deadlines, work flexibly, prioritise workload and work under pressure
  • A positive, proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
