Job description

HR Business Partner who is CIPD Level 5 or above with a strong business acumen and the ability to provide advice, guidance, and support to staff and managers is required for a busy Human Resources / People Team at a well-established Multi-Academy Trust based in Coventry, West Midlands.

SALARY: £38,341 - £45,197 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Coventry, West Midlands

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week, All Year Round. Applications on a flexible basis welcome

PLEASE NOTE: Full Driving Licence and Own Vehicle Essential

You will be required to visit other Schools in the Trust when needed.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an impactful, motivated HR Business Partner who is CIPD Level 5 or above with a strong business acumen and the ability to provide advice, guidance, and support to staff and managers.

As the HR Business Partner, you will have excellent relationship-building and influencing skills and will work in partnership with Trust leaders, Headteachers, school leaders, and HR colleagues to shape, develop, and deliver HR plans and solutions.

You will provide advice, guidance, and support to staff and managers by delivering high-level people management and development support across designated schools, whilst managing risk and ensuring statutory compliance.

DUTIES

Your duties include:

  • Providing HR advice and guidance to Headteachers, managers, and staff on HR matters and coaching/support on complex casework, performance, attendance, and employee relations issues.
  • Acting as part of a team to advise the Trust and Headteachers on employment matters.
  • Consulting, working with, and challenging leaders to develop employee strategies and ways of working to support organizational targets, attract, retain, and develop employees.
  • Horizon scanning across and beyond the education sector to develop and implement new ideas using evidence-based information.
  • Delivering HR initiatives including workforce planning, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee relations, engagement, and performance management.
  • Supporting projects such as large-scale transformation, change, transition activities, workforce remodelling, and TUPE, ensuring equality, inclusion, and diversity considerations.
  • Utilizing HR technology to gather, analyze, and communicate HR information efficiently.
  • Analyzing and reporting HR data to support benchmarking and strategy development.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of a Trust-wide recruitment and onboarding strategy.
  • Working with leaders to develop career pathways, including the use of the Apprenticeship Levy.
  • Ensuring robust Safer Recruitment practices in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Managing internal and external reporting and audits through HR data provision.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with Trade Unions and leading negotiations where appropriate.
  • Providing leadership and coaching to team members, including HR Assistants.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above.
  • Previous experience as an HR Business Partner or HR manager.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop HR solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ability to assess situations, including risks, and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Commercial awareness to identify and quantify the financial impact of HR interventions.
  • Competent in employment legislation and conditions of service to ensure compliance and best practice.
