Job description

Join a leading UK business at a very exciting time; This is a key role providing Business Partnering support to Senior Leaders within our East Midlands business areas for a UK leading business providing multiple services across an array of sectors.

The aim of the role is to coach, train, partner and empower managers in your partnered business area and to drive forward the Groups People making the Difference Strategy.

The wide range of multi services offered by our client means that no two days will be the same and this role is about partnering teams in a variety of sectors on a continuous journey of improvement which focusses on our People initiatives and supporting operational objectives, rather than day to day administration.

Travel around local sites will be required, and is expensed.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:
  1. Work with leadership teams to deliver goals and objectives aligned to the 5 Year Business Plan and the People Making the Difference strategy
  2. Provide proactive, value-added coaching and support to the partnered service area/s on medium to long term operational people challenges and change management
  3. Challenge, coach and influence leaders and colleagues constructively in order to drive a high performing culture and build capability and knowledge
  4. Lead on talent and succession planning in your business areas, ensuring the 9-box methodology is effectively utilised and People Forums are constructively held.
  5. Provide guidance and coaching to operational areas on complex casework
  6. Work closely with the Organisational Development Team and Careers Team to ensure that talent and engagements plans are delivered which support career pathways and recruitment initiatives
  7. Champion a positive approach to wellbeing across the business areas, promoting the Groups total rewards benefits including the We Care employee support scheme
  8. Develop strong working relationships with the leadership teams and be the critical partner for the business areas
  9. Coach and guide People Advisors within the East Midlands
  10. Work effectively with the People shared service team who will be advising on case work within the business areas
  11. Support the business areas in continually embedding a positive working culture and escalate areas of people/ business risk to the Associate Director of People
  12. Work closely with the East Midlands Operational Leadership, Organisational Development and Careers Teams to ensure that key People budget decisions are executed, including remuneration and reward strategy
  13. Champion the brands of the business areas and the Group at all times, and lead on activities that promote the business areas as an employer of choice.
  14. To reinforce the ownership of people management by line managers and provide appropriate coaching where required
  15. To partner with key stakeholders to ensure all People projects and initiatives are appropriately communicated and implemented in your partnered area/s
  16. Where required support with group wide projects or initiatives
  17. Occasional travel to Head Office in Ipswich
Experience:
  • Solid HR Business partner experience gained from a dynamic and fast paced organisation
  • Ability to influence and partner with senior management across organisation
  • Tupe experience would be highly desirable
  • Experience with change management
  • Ability to have difficult and challenging conversations
  • Confident communicator at all levels
