Job summary

DHL Germany in Cannock is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support operations across Cannock and Doncaster. This role is hands-on and site-based, partnering with senior leaders to deliver practical HR solutions for ~250 colleagues.

You'll lead employee relations, coach managers, and drive engagement in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to unionised settings and multiple sites.

Qualifications

• HRBP experience in a customer-centric, operational setting.
• Union relations management and pay negotiations experience (desirable).
• ER expertise in performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and attendance.
• High energy with passion for culture, engagement and visible HR presence.
• Credible influencer able to challenge and support senior leaders.
• Coaching to build management capability with pragmatic advice.
• Resilient, adaptable, and able to work at pace.
• CIPD studying, qualified or equivalent HR knowledge.
• Clear, confident communication to build trust at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective communication at sites.
• Support ER agenda and relationships with unions at sites.
• Deploy HR priorities such as labour flexibility, payroll optimisation, T&C standardisation.
• Provide HR support to startups and business wins, losses and transfers.
• Ensure robust performance management (sickness, discipline, grievance).
• Support managers with workforce planning and organisation design, forecasting resourcing needs, and identifying future talent requirements.
• Advise managers to ensure compliance with HR policies.

Role covers Cannock and Doncaster and will require site presence in both each week

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment? We're looking for a confident HR professional to join our team.

Partnering with senior leaders, you'll provide both strategic and hands-on HR support across a workforce of 250 colleagues covering 2 main sites across Cannock and Doncaster based primarily on site, you'll build strong relationships, drive engagement, and deliver practical people solutions that support business performance.

You’ll bring strong employee relations experience, the ability to manage complex people matters, and a passion for coaching and developing managers. Experience in a unionised environment would be beneficial, along with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

What your day could involve

• Support with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective communication at sites.
• Support the ER agenda and lead / support relationships and key processes with unions at sites.
• Deploy the Business HR Priorities, as directed e.g. labour flexibility, OMS, LPMC, payroll optimisation, T&C's standardisation.
• Provide HR support to start ups and business wins, losses and transfers.
• Ensure employee performance management (sickness, discipline, grievance) is robustly supported.
• Support managers to develop and deliver solutions for workforce planning and management including organisation design, forecasting resourcing needs, agency and identifying future talent requirements.
• Act as an advisor to managers to support compliance with HR policies.

What we need from you

• Strong HR Business Partner experience within a customer‑centric, operational environment
• Proven union relationship management and pay negotiations experience- desirable
• Solid ER expertise across performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and attendance
• High energy with a genuine passion for culture, engagement and visible HR presence
• Credible influencer, able to challenge and support senior leaders
• Experience building management capability through coaching and pragmatic advice
• Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working at pace
• CIPD studying, qualified or equivalent level of professional HR knowledge
• Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
