Job summary

DHL Germany is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support our Gatwick Airport operation. This role is primarily on site and focuses on strategic and hands‑on HR activities, employee relations, and union liaison to drive business performance.

You will partner with senior leaders, coach managers, and help shape a positive workplace culture in a fast‑paced environment. The role requires credibility, strong communication, and the ability to influence at all levels.

Qualifications

• Experience as HRBP in an operational, customer‑centric environment.
• Strong employee relations skills and ability to handle complex people issues.
• Experience with union relationships and pay negotiations is desirable.
• Proven capability to coach and develop line managers.
• Confident influencer with credible communication at all levels.

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment? We're looking for a confident HR professional to join our team.

Partnering with senior leaders, you'll provide both strategic and hands-on HR support across a workforce of colleagues within our Gatwick Airport Operation, primarily on site, you'll build strong relationships, drive engagement, and deliver practical people solutions that support business performance.

You'll bring strong employee relations experience, the ability to manage complex people matters, and a passion for coaching and developing managers. Experience in a unionised environment would be beneficial, along with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

What your day could involve

• Support with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective communication at site.
• Support the ER agenda and lead / support relationships and key processes with unions at site.
• Deploy the Business HR Priorities, as directed e.g. labour flexibility, OMS, LPMC, payroll optimisation, T&C's standardisation.
• Provide HR support to start ups and business wins, losses and transfers.
• Ensure employee performance management (sickness, discipline, grievance) is robustly supported.
• Support managers to develop and deliver solutions for workforce planning and management including organisation design, forecasting resourcing needs, agency and identifying future talent requirements.
• Act as an advisor to managers to support compliance with HR policies.

What we need from you

• Strong HR Business Partner experience within a customer‑centric, operational environment
• Proven union relationship management and pay negotiations experience- desirable
• Solid ER expertise across performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and attendance
• High energy with a genuine passion for culture, engagement and visible HR presence
• Credible influencer, able to challenge and support senior leaders
• Experience building management capability through coaching and pragmatic advice
• Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working at pace
• CIPD studying, qualified or equivalent level of professional HR knowledge
• Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
