Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Part-time HR Advisor for our Gloucester site (GL10 3EZ). This site-based role involves 22.5 hours per week across three days, with Friday required, and travel to other sites as needed.

You will support HRBP and site leadership, provide guidance on HR policies, manage employee relations, and help with workforce planning while delivering proactive, customer-focused HR service.

  • Case management experience (Essential)
  • Strong organisational skills (Essential)
  • Experience within a logistics business (Desirable)
  • A CIPD level 3 qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Looking to develop in a fast-paced site-based environment

Responsibilities

  • Support HRBP/site leadership to deliver the strategic HR plan and develop people management capabilities
  • Support employee satisfaction, performance, retention and site communication
  • Provide HR support and guidance to managers on HR matters, policy and recruitment
  • Advise on HR policies and procedures in line with current and proposed employment legislation and local arrangements
  • Assist with workforce planning, organisation design and forecasting resourcing needs
  • Support employee cases relating to disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence; assist investigations
  • Collaborate with managers on sickness management and redeployment where appropriate
  • Assist colleagues back to work and reduce sickness absence across the organisation
  • Provide accurate and timely data to HRBP and managers to deliver HR processes

Site-based working

PART-TIME ROLE - 3 days a week (22.5 hours per week, Friday required)

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
  • Support the HRBP/ site leadership teams to deliver the strategic business & HR plan, and support managers to develop people management capabilities
  • Support with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective communication at sites
  • Provide HR support to contribute to the overall success of the HR agenda in delivering a proactive and customer-focused HR service by providing effective support, guidance and advice to managers and colleagues on a wide variety of HR matters, such as employee relations, policy and process, recruitment and the delivery of key projects
  • Advise and coach managers on the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures in accordance with current and proposed employment legislation and local arrangements, to ensure consistency, accuracy and best practice
  • Support managers to develop and deliver solutions for workforce planning and management, including organisation design, forecasting resourcing needs, agency and identifying future talent requirements
  • Support the management of employee cases relating to disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence. This includes providing advice to managers on policy/procedure and legislation, support managers with Occupational Health, supporting formal investigations and hearings.
  • Work in collaboration with managers on managing sickness, managing redeployment where appropriate, assisting colleagues back to work and working with managers to reduce sickness absence across the organisation.
  • Provide accurate and timely data to the HRBP and managers to successfully deliver HR processes
