Job summary

The Dawn Meats Group is seeking an HR Assistant to support the HR team with recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, absence management and performance processes. You will work across both West Country sites, with frequent travel and site inductions for new hires.

Hourly hours are 8:30–17:00, Monday to Friday, with salary of £27,000 per annum. Training and mentoring are provided; previous HR experience is not essential but desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the HR team to support the delivery of all people policies and processes in line with best practice and legislative requirements.
• Undertaking projects assigned by the department during the training process.
• Supporting the HR function with the full recruitment process including interview, pre-employment checks and onboarding including the delivery of site inductions.
• Supporting internal and external enquiries and requests relating to the HR function
• Supporting the payroll function through provision of relevant documents and checks
• Using internal data systems to record relevant HR data and accurately report HR KPIs.
• Daily on-site interaction and employee engagement with a multi-cultural and diverse workforce.
• Supporting the business through the delivery of site absence management processes
• Notetaking in formal meetings including disciplinary and grievance hearings.
• Help support, organize, and deliver onsite Occupational Health surveillance visits, ethical audits, and other such initiatives.
