Job summary

An established industry player in education is seeking an HR and Payroll Officer to ensure smooth payroll processing and provide comprehensive HR support. This role involves working closely with HR Officers and the Head of HR to deliver a high-quality service tailored to the needs of the school. You will be responsible for processing payroll, managing contract variations, and supporting recruitment efforts. Qualifications

  • 2:1 degree or above is required for this position.
  • Experience in HR/Payroll roles is essential, preferably in a school.

HR and Payroll Officer | Lewisham

School HR and Payroll Officer, £25k-£30k, Lewisham

The HR and Payroll Officer will help ensure the smooth and timely processing of payroll and provide full HR support in a confidential manner.

HR and Payroll Officer summary:

  • HR and Payroll Officer salary: £25k-£30k
  • To process contract variations through ITrent, ensuring the correct authorisations are in place, accurate entering of information, and issuing of relevant paperwork to employees, updating databases and records for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Work closely with the HR Officers and Head of HR to ensure a high quality, professional, friendly, and efficient HR service is delivered in line with the needs of the school.
  • In liaison with finance, ensure correct details are processed on payroll for all staff and that new staff are added.
  • Provide the highest levels of support and information to the Principal (or appropriate parties) throughout the recruitment process including specific information on advertising and recruitment timescales.
  • Responsible for the recording of monthly absence e.g., sick leave, maternity, and special leave, paid and unpaid by payroll deadline dates.
  • Liaise with Health and Safety champion to ensure all risk assessments are completed.

HR and Payroll Officer requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree or above.
  • Experience of working in a busy HR/Payroll position. School experience is a bonus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications.
  • Self-starter and proactive.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and meet quick time deadlines.
  • DBS checks.
