Job summary

The Talent World is seeking a Temp HR Advisor in Cheltenham to support the HR team for approximately four months. You will work independently, delivering a high-quality, commercially focused HR advisory service and handling a broad range of employee relations matters.

You will provide expert advice to managers, assess risk, prepare documentation, and support HR projects to keep operations running smoothly during the temporary period.

Qualifications

• You are an experienced HR professional with strong employee relations expertise.
• You can coach managers on people-related matters and ensure compliance with legislation and policies.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a range of complex employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, performance, probation, flexible working, family leave, workplace conflict).
• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on HR matters, ensuring compliance with employment law and best practice.
• Assess risk and escalate only high‑risk or complex cases.
• Prepare case documentation, correspondence and management reports.
• Support and lead formal meetings and hearings where appropriate.
• Contribute to HR projects and organisational change activity as required.

We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our clients HR team on a temporary basis, providing additional support for circa 4 months.

In this role, you'll work independently to deliver a high-quality, professional and commercially focused HR advisory service, managing a broad range of employee relations matters and supporting managers across the organisation. This position will play a key role in ensuring operational HR activity continues to be delivered effectively, enabling HR Business Partners to focus on strategic priorities and organisational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage a range of complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, performance management, probation, flexible working, family leave and workplace conflict.
• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on people-related matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies and best practice.
• Assess risk and recommend appropriate solutions, escalating only the most complex or high-risk cases.
• Prepare case documentation, correspondence and management reports.
• Support and lead formal meetings and hearings where appropriate.
• Contribute to HR projects and organisational change activity as required.

You'll be an experienced HR professional with strong employee relations expertise and the confidence to manage complex casework autonomously. You'll be comfortable building trusted relationships with managers, balancing risk with practical business solutions, and working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
