Job summary

Hyra is recruiting an HR Advisor in London for a 4-month assignment within a Higher Education organisation. The role focuses on delivering pragmatic HR guidance across a broad generalist remit in a fast-paced change programme.

You’ll work closely with managers, support ER casework, absence, performance management, recruitment and broader HR projects, while building strong stakeholder relationships in a busy environment.

We are recruiting within a Higher Education organisation in London to recruit an experienced HR Advisor for an initial 4-month assignment.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation as it goes through a period of significant change and transformation. We're looking for someone with a positive, solutions-focused attitude who is agile, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.

You’ll work closely with managers and HR colleagues, providing pragmatic HR advice across a broad generalist remit. The role will include employee relations, absence, performance management, recruitment and wider HR projects/change activity.

Key areas will include:

• Providing confident, practical advice to managers
• Supporting ER casework including disciplinary, grievance and capability
• Advising on absence and performance management
• Supporting recruitment and the wider employee lifecycle
• Contributing to HR projects and change initiatives
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
• Managing competing priorities in a busy, evolving environment

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has solid HR Advisor/generalist experience, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation
• Has hands‑on experience of ER, change and performance management
• Is positive, resilient and solutions-focused
• Can be agile and adaptable as priorities evolve
• Is comfortable managing challenging situations and advising a range of stakeholders
• Can hit the ground running and work both independently and collaboratively
• Has experience of a unionised or Higher Education environment, which would be advantageous rather than essential
