Job summary

DHL in Gloucester is seeking a part-time HR Advisor to support the HRBP and site leadership with delivering strategic HR plans and people management capabilities. The role includes advising on policy, managing employee relations and sickness, and helping with workforce planning. Travel to other sites may be required.

The position is site-based, 3 days per week with Friday required, and involves proactive, customer-focused HR service delivery to managers and colleagues across UK sites.

Qualifications

  • Previous HR experience required.
  • Trade union experience preferred.
  • Case management experience required.
  • Strong organisational skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Support HRBP/site leadership to deliver strategic HR and business plans.
  • Assist with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective site communications.
  • Provide HR support on employee relations, policy and process, recruitment and project delivery.
  • Advise managers on policy interpretation to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Support workforce planning, including forecasting resourcing needs and talent requirements.
  • Assist with managing sickness absence and occupational health with investigations.
  • Collaborate with managers to reduce sickness absence and redeployment when needed.
  • Provide accurate and timely data to HRBP and managers for HR processes.

HR Advisor Contract Type: Permanent Location: Gloucester (GL10 3EZ) Grade: RCS M Site-based working PART-TIME ROLE - 3 days a week (22.5 hours per week, Friday required) (Travel to other sites when required) With 37,000 employees in 400 operations across the UK & Ireland, we're part of an exciting and varied business. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
  • Support the HRBP/ site leadership teams to deliver the strategic business & HR plan, and support managers to develop people management capabilities
  • Support with employee satisfaction, performance, retention and effective communication at sites
  • Provide HR support to contribute to the overall success of the HR agenda in delivering a proactive and customer-focused HR service by providing effective support, guidance and advice to managers and colleagues on a wide variety of HR matters, such as employee relations, policy and process, recruitment and the delivery of key projects
  • Advise and coach managers on the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures in accordance with current and proposed employment legislation and local arrangements, to ensure consistency, accuracy and best practice
  • Support managers to develop and deliver solutions for workforce planning and management, including organisation design, forecasting resourcing needs, agency and identifying future talent requirements
  • Support the management of employee cases relating to disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence. This includes providing advice to managers on policy/procedure and legislation, support managers with Occupational Health, supporting formal investigations and hearings.
  • Work in collaboration with managers on managing sickness, managing redeployment where appropriate, assisting colleagues back to work and working with managers to reduce sickness absence across the organisation.
  • Provide accurate and timely data to the HRBP and managers to successfully deliver HR processes
