Job summary

The Fractional HR Department in the United Kingdom is seeking an HR professional with solid UK generalist HR experience, preferably supporting SMEs. The role focuses on employee relations, policy development and client advisory work, with hybrid working from Sevenoaks and occasional client-site visits across London & South East.

You will lead ER cases, provide legally sound guidance, support recruitment campaigns, draft policies, deliver training, and help implement new HR processes.

Qualifications

• Solid UK generalist HR experience, ideally supporting SMEs.
• Strong employee relations experience and confidence leading on cases.
• Ability to provide clear, structured advice even in fast-moving situations.
• Good commercial judgement and understanding of small business realities.
• Clear, warm, professional communication and collaboration.
• Willingness to work autonomously while aligning with team standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and advise on ER cases (disciplinary, grievance, probation, etc.) with knowledge of employment law and ACAS codes.
• Provide clear, legally sound guidance to clients and colleagues.
• Support recruitment campaigns and benchmarking terms and conditions.
• Draft and maintain policies, templates, and SOPs.
• Deliver training sessions to clients.
• Support implementation of new processes and systems, collaborating with wider HR team.

Location: Hybrid
Hours: Full-time/Part time available
Base: Sevenoaks, with client site visits across London & South East
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 p.a.

Support of Level 5 CIPD via apprenticeship is available.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and advising on ER cases (disciplinary, grievance, probation, etc.) with a good working knowledge of employment law and ACAS statutory codes
• Providing clear, legally sound guidance to clients and colleagues
• Supporting recruitment campaigns and benchmarking terms and conditions
• Drafting and maintaining policies, templates, and SOPs
• Delivering prepared training sessions to clients
• Supporting the implementation of new processes and systems
• Working collaboratively with the wider HR team to support client success

About you

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Can balance multiple priorities without losing sight of detail
• Enjoy working autonomously while valuing collaboration and shared standards
• Hold Level 3 CIPD (or equivalent)
• Open to complete CIPD Level 5 or working towards/ Hold CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent)
• Experience within HR Consultancy

Working Pattern

• One fixed day per week (Monday) in our Sevenoaks office
• At least one additional day per week (typically Thursday) either in the Sevenoaks office or at a client site
• Remaining days can be worked remotely

Experience in a consultancy environment is welcome but not essential, what matters most is your ability to build trust, deliver practical HR and work confidently with SME leaders.
