Job description

We are currently supporting our client with the recruitment of an ER Advisor to work in the Plymouth area. If you are seeking a new opportunity, then we would love to hear from you.

HR Advisor (Employee Relations)

Salary: Based on £30,000 per annum
Location: On-site, PL2 postcode area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5hrs a week
Contract: Temporary, 5 months

KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As an adviser you will be the main point of contact for employees, holding individual consultation meetings relating to contract restructuring activities. You will provide a professional and compassionate consultation experience for impacted employees and manage end-to-end and timely closure of consultations, utilising the ER Admin and escalating concerns to the ER Case Manager. This will involve working with a high volume of consultation meetings in a busy, complex and fast-paced unionised environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The Advisors are required to capture and track all requests & queries raised in the consultation meetings and manage re-assignment of queries to the ER Case Manager as required to provide effective case management.
  2. Ensure all activities are accurately logged on the People Services case management system, updated regularly, and documents stored in employee files as required.
  3. Work with sensitive data in line with data protection legislation.
  4. Demonstrate a high level of empathy and patience using the customer first approach.
  5. Use defined procedures, knowledge base and policies when providing service to the employee/partner. Follow through on commitments and take responsibility to achieve results.

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  1. Numerate and literate, with GCSEs in Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent.
  2. Must be able to demonstrate experience in Employee relations within a Customer Service Environment.
  3. CIPD is desirable but not essential.
  4. Have excellent communication skills, be flexible and friendly, with a high level of self-motivation & initiative.
  5. Required to manage time effectively in order to complete heavy workload and meet deadlines.
  6. Proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  7. Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  8. Be able to work in a high-pressure environment.
  9. Ability to hold SC security clearance is essential.
