Job summary

GXO is seeking an HR Advisor for the Northampton (Pineham) site to act as a trusted HR partner to operational leaders across warehouse and transport. You will deliver expert HR support, influence leadership, manage complex ER matters, and help execute the people strategy while promoting an inclusive culture.

This full-time role offers 37.5 hours weekly, on-site Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00, with a salary up to £35,000 per annum plus benefits and 25 days of leave.

Qualifications

• Generalist HR experience with strong employee relations exposure.
• Solid knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practice.
• Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers across warehouse and transport operations, providing HR guidance on employee relations and performance.
• Manage employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability processes.
• Build relationships across the site with a visible HR presence and coaching support.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive culture.

At GXO, we’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at our Northampton (Pineham) site. This is an exciting opportunity to become a trusted advisor to operational leaders across both warehouse and transport functions, providing expert HR support and helping to deliver our people strategy. As a visible and influential member of the HR team, you’ll play a key role in driving employee engagement, supporting organisational performance, managing complex employee relations matters, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

This is a full-time, permanent position with 37.5 hours per week contracted. Based on-site Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Partner with managers across warehouse and transport operations, providing professional HR guidance on employee relations, performance management, and people matters
• Manage a variety of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability, and long-term sickness processes
• Build strong relationships across the site through a visible HR presence, coaching managers and supporting colleagues at all levels
• Drive employee engagement initiatives, contributing to a positive culture and helping to create an environment where colleagues can thrive
• Analyse people data, identify trends, and support the delivery of the site people plan, HR projects, and wider business objectives

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience in a generalist HR role with strong employee relations exposure, in a fast-moving environment
• Solid knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practice, including trade unions
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ideally CIPD level 5 qualified (or working towards CIPD qualification)
