Job summary

Pertemps Bond is recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor on behalf of Northern Powergrid. This 6-month sickness cover role is based in Sunderland or Shiremoor and focuses on providing practical, people-focused HR advice and support to managers across a dedicated directorate.

The role covers employee relations, recruitment, performance management, absence, wellbeing, organisational change and learning and development. CIPD qualification and strong stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• CIPD qualification or equivalent
• Significant generalist HR experience within a large/complex organisation
• Experience providing HR advisory and business partnering support
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders, including at Director level
• Experience supporting organisational change
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT systems
• Full clean driving licence

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive HR advisory service across a dedicated directorate
• Coach and support managers on employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance
• Advise managers on recruitment, resourcing and organisational changes
• Support talent development and performance improvement plans
• Provide HR input into projects, change programmes and working groups
• Use HR data and metrics to identify trends and support continuous improvement
• Build strong relationships with managers, colleagues and trade union representatives
• Work closely with the wider People Services team and provide support to the People Business Partner
• Ensure a high-quality, customer-focused HR service is delivered

Pertemps are actively recruiting on behalf of Northern Powergrid for an experienced HR Advisor to join their People team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused HR professional to provide practical, people-focused advice and support to managers and key stakeholders across a dedicated business area.
You’ll play an important role in supporting a wide range of HR activity, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, absence, wellbeing, organisational change and learning and development.

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who can demonstrate:

• Experience supporting and implementing organisational change
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT systems

Desirable:

• Degree in HR, Business or a related subject
• Experience working within a trade union recognised environment
• HR experience within a blue-collar or operational industry
