Job description

Are you an HR Administrator with at least two years’ HR experience, looking to broaden your knowledge and develop your career?

We’re looking for an organised, proactive colleague to join our four-person HR team. This is a varied, generalist role with exposure to the full employee lifecycle and plenty of opportunity to learn.

You’ll report to our HR Business Partner and work alongside our Head of HR, Senior HR Administrator and Payroll Specialist. We’re a supportive team who know the firm well and bring a wealth of HR experience. We enjoy sharing our knowledge and helping each other develop.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll help keep our day-to-day HR activities running smoothly, supporting colleagues across the firm. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating onboarding and offboarding, ensuring a smooth experience for joining and departing colleagues.

  • Maintaining accurate employee records and preparing HR reports.

  • Coordinating learning and development activities, including exam results and our internal HLK Academy.

  • Supporting the coordination of graduate recruitment.

  • Maintaining and updating our People and Culture intranet.

  • Coordinating absence administration and records.

  • Coordinating our annual performance management administration

  • Sharing responsibility for monitoring the HR inbox and responding to queries.

  • Supporting the wider team with projects and other activities as they arise.

This list isn’t exhaustive: as part of a small team, you’ll have opportunities to contribute across a broad range of HR work.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have at least two years’ experience working in HR, a grounding in HR administration and an interest in continuing to develop your practice and knowledge.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is organised and able to manage competing priorities and follow tasks through to completion.

  • Takes a proactive, practical approach to solving problems.

  • Produces accurate work, checks the detail and communicates clearly.

  • Uses their knowledge and the tools and guidance available to work through unfamiliar tasks.

  • Asks for help when needed and is willing to suggest possible solutions.

  • Handles sensitive information with discretion and maintains confidentiality.

  • Enjoys working collaboratively and building relationships with colleagues.

There will be plenty to learn, and you won’t be expected to know everything from day one. You’ll receive training, shadowing opportunities and support from the whole team. As your confidence grows, we’ll encourage you to take increasing ownership of your work and use your judgement to move tasks forward.

What you can expect

This is a great opportunity to build your generalist HR experience within a knowledgeable, approachable team. You’ll gain insight into how HR supports the firm, contribute to meaningful projects and develop your skills through hands-on experience.

We value care, quality and clear communication—and we want you to feel comfortable bringing your authentic self, ideas and personality to the team.
