Job summary

Academy Transformation Trust is seeking an HR Administrator to manage HR administration across the employee lifecycle, support payroll processing, and ensure accurate employee records. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

The position is 30 hours per week, term time plus 4 weeks, hybrid with home working and travel to academies across the Trust. Closing date: 18 September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR, payroll, administration or customer-focused environment.
  • Strong written communication and ability to draft professional correspondence.
  • Experience maintaining records and handling confidential information.
  • Good numerical skills and confidence with data and calculations.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage HR administration across the employee lifecycle from onboarding to leaving.
  • Prepare, check and submit payroll information accurately within deadlines.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll and people-related queries, escalating when needed.
  • Produce letters, contracts, reports and employee correspondence with accuracy.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems with attention to detail.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and compliance processes.
  • Carry out data checks and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Respond professionally to employee enquiries and work with payroll providers to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of people processes and service delivery.

NJC Point 7 - 14 (£26,403 - £29,540 FTE - Actual £20,301.39 - £22,713.69)

Hybrid - Home working with travel to academies (applicants must be able to travel to all academies)

You will support the employee lifecycle, payroll processes, HR administration, compliance activity and colleague communications, ensuring information is accurate, confidential and delivered professionally. You will be trusted to handle sensitive information, draft correspondence, resolve queries and support colleagues with confidence, professionalism and integrity.

What you will be doing
  • Managing HR administration across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to leaving employment.
  • Preparing, checking and submitting payroll information accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Investigating and resolving payroll and people-related queries, escalating appropriately where needed.
  • Producing accurate letters, contracts, reports and employee correspondence.
  • Maintaining employee records and HR systems with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and compliance processes.
  • Undertaking calculations, data checks and reconciliations to confirm accuracy.
  • Responding confidently, sensitively and professionally to employee enquiries.
  • Working collaboratively with leaders, HR colleagues and payroll providers to resolve issues.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity, discretion and sound judgement.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in people processes and service delivery.
